Rooster or mites?

A couple of my hens have this weird patchyness on the back/top of their heads. It seems a little crust so I can't tell if it might be mights or just from the rooster. Only the top of their heads seem affected and I don't see it on anyone else

Rooster mating damage. Some roosters have a bad habit of grabbing a hen by the skin on the back of her head to bring her under control and to steady himself as he mates. It's highly unlikely that it's mites. But you should rule that out by checking the coop roosts at night for crawling things.
