rooster or no

[TLWR]

Penelope is now Penelope Rooster. No question. She started early attempts at crowing about 6 weeks ago or more and real crowing for the last 3-4 weeks. One of the reasons the chicken house got built recently so he'd be off the patio and we'd not have to hear his little loud mouth a 5:30am.

Oliver...
no boy signs yet, but I've heard that sometimes another rooster around could delay onset/development of roosterness.

Obviously by name, I had them pegged as the opposite gender.
So is Oliver an Olivia or still an Oliver?


sorry for the lovely quality... my lens fogged up and then the battery on my camera died and I've not found the spare or the charger yet.

I want to say a rooster but if they are the same age you should be able to see saddle feathers on him as well

If you open the 2nd pic where Oliver is standing so you can see his side (black one), would you consider those saddle feathers? I think he's getting some.
There's no way we can keep 2 roosters... we only have 3 hens.
