Hi everyone. I feel a little silly asking this question, but I'm at a loss here. I raised a chick (light brahma) from a local feed store. She was hatched in February of this year. I have sent photos to several people asking if its a pullet or cockerel. Majority says pullet. So, she has been living with us as a pullet. However, this is where it gets weird and I have little knowledge in sexing chickens and totally new at raising them. Lately, SHE (or atleast I think so) has been great at getting along with the other hens that are a few months older than her. However, this week I have seen HER change her behavior and she jumps on top of the other hens and pecks their heads. This is causing me concern that she is going to hurt them as she is the largest of the six. I have an Orpington, Polish, Silkie, Frizzle and Americana. Perhaps do I have a rooster and he is trying to mate with them? Here is what is weird. He/She does not try to crow nor has had any interest in crowing. Also, I have not had any eggs from her. Not sure what to make of this. But, I'm worried for the other gals and don't want to see them get hurt because the brahma is three times their size. I have uploaded a head shot of her to see if you all think she is a rooster in disguise......

Not laying does not surprise me as brahmas tend to be slower to mature than some breeds. Given that this bird hatched in February that would put it at at least 16 weeks (and that is if it was hatched at the very end of February - so possibly up to 4 weeks older) what part of February did you get the bird in?
At this point I am not seeing a rooster, but rather a maturing pullet who is reddening up - but perhaps someone with more brahma experience can chime in?
