These are just 4/6 of my big boys. I also have a silver spangled Hamburg named Kermit, &EE/Hamburg named Peacock Peake. And 8 bantam roo’s (ugh) named Taz, Jaws, Markus, Simon, Julius, Biscuit, Ralph, & Mike.

Welsummers also have yellow legs, which is an easy way of telling them from OEGBs. Actually, the bird in question has slate legs with what looks like a case of scaly leg mite. Black Breasted Red OEGB should have pinkish or white legs, not slate. Since the bird in question is from auction and doesn't quite look pure for color anyway, I would personally guess he's some kind of OEGB mix, not pure for the breed.

Can you get a closer picture of his legs? From the picture in the first post, they look crusty, which is a sign of scaly leg mite. You won't actually see the mites, you'll only see the signs of them like lifted scales and crusty legs.
