Anyone got a good link with audio to learn the language of the roo? I read that there are different sounds for different communications, but mine seem to each have their own call. That and the ear-piercing scream when anyone lays an egg. No more sleeping in - I jumped into clothes this AM, certain that some axe murder was beating on my door and killing all the animals. Spot, the Alpha, calmed down after some sweet talk and corn, only to start up again at the next egg to be laid. Do they get more upset when a chicken has a hard time with the egg? Or are the roosters all claiming parentage? Alpa Spot's normal call is the Air Force Anthem - "Off we gooooooo......."

They're just being roosters. As mine got older I learned to tell the different noises that they make. There's only one alarm he makes that gets me out to the coop in a hurry. The rest of the time I just chalk it up to him being a roo and having an itty bitty brain.
