Rooster shrinks leg after spur removal

So... we removed our rooster's spurs with the hot potato method. If you don't know about it, it consists of using a hot potato to soften the spur and then twist it with pliers (or similar) until it comes off.

He bled a little and we used an antiseptic but now, one day later, he is shrinking one leg. It looks a bit swollen in comparison to the other leg. Is this normal? Should I worry? He acts normal besides that.
 
Guys, I finally took him to the vet because the swelling got worse overnight. @Tonyroo was right, he had an infection. I solved this by spraying a mix of iodopovidone and water in his leg for a few days.

Thanks for the help! And please if you ever have to remove your rooster's spurs, try to use non-bloody methods if possible!
