Rooster sick and deteriorating rapidly

The poison thing is a huge concern. I think his behavior sounds very much like poisoning. Can you remove everything that was sprayed so another exposure does not occur, if that is what happened? It sounds like you’re doing a good job nursing him back to health. As far as a single worm egg, my understanding is chickens can handle a low worm load as long as they are healthy. Anyone else? My chickens dig for earthworms all the time, so I assume they could have whatever worms complete their lifecycle within an earthworm host, but a fecal float test came back negative.
Anyway, glad your guy is improving.

Johnny is continuing to improve still a little shaky on his feet and is vocalizing more than he has been while sick
I haven't herd him crow yet but my wife said she herd him this morning
The fire ant nest I poisoned was in the back yard and we had some rain so by now its safe
There coop is on the side of the front yard so whenever I did a fire ant nest in the front I have some wire circles that I put around them so they couldn't get into it
They don't go over where I poisoned the fire ant nest much
But going to use the circles where ever I kill a nest in the yard from now on

I'm having a bad day so wont be crawling under the truck today (back problems)

You mentioned giving him a cup of water through a syringe. That's an awful lot of water. Did I read that correctly?
I used the plastic single serve fruit cups so was using cup as a generic term
But I shouldn't have used any generic terms when asking for help with a sick animal
I measured the container it is 1/2 cup

I'm having a bad back day, too. Ugh.

I'm glad to hear your boy is doing better!

Glad he is getting better, and good for you to get the fluids into him. One 1/2 cup (~120 ml) does seem like a more reasonable amount. Total crop volume is about 5% of their body weight (0.77 ounces per pound).

Wow he is recovering as fast as he deteriorated
He was almost back to normal by when I locked them up for the night
called out time for bed and he came running then squawked at me to hurry up on the way to the coop
It's a very good thing chickens metabolize substances quickly one end and out the other.
Just yesterday morning I was afraid I was going to find him dead in the corner when I opened the coop

I'm still a little worried about how skinny he is perhaps he hid being sick for a while
My wife won him at an auction while I was going to the bathroom when I asked her after we got home all she could remember is blue something
I think he's probably a blue australorp
He is a 2 now
I am assuming that I should get him up to at least a 3 but don't know maybe a 2 is perfect for his breed

I made up some fecal float solution with Epsom salts going to try and catch him pooping tomorrow
I need to order some more slides would I need anything else like dies?

You might supplement Johnny's diet with little bits of things he likes to stimulate his appetite. They love mashed hard boiled egg.

Thanks for the chart -- I've not seen that before. I'll have to look up the body parts again to see what the "keel" is. I think it might be the breastbone??

Personality wise he is back to normal and eating good
But he took a poop today has me concerned
foamy orange - red color

Luckily we saw him poop so I put it in a water bottle shook it up with some flotation solution I made from Epsom salt after 5 min I poured what was on top about a cap full into another bottle then filled it with solution and topped off the bottles
waited 5 min and put a slide cover on each bottle to make 2 slides
Didn't see anything moving in either slide and unfortunately my microscope does not have a scale
I am getting a wire ran up my spine tomorrow
But if I can get some of his fresh poop will try to drop it off before I go in
