Rooster Spurs

Have never had to remove spurs from a cock, have trimmed just the very tip off to dull it...more for my safety when handling them.

Of more concern would be learning how to deal with a cock/erel so he doesn't become a problem...this might help:

That was a great article! Thank you! Hopefully my cockerel will continue to be subordinate to me. He runs from me right now and he crows but when i walk into the run, he gets very quiet. So now I know to keep that behavior going. Thank you again for sharing that with me!
 
I am constantly reading everything I can find on chickens. It is better to be safe than sorry after something does happen. Every rooster and hen are different. Hope you have only great results with your babies.
