Rooster spurs?

I'm just curious when do a rooster's spurs start to grow? Mine has bumps so far.

depends on breed how fast they grow but you wont see anything for atleast a year or so

My boys are developing spur bumps like yours also . They are golden laced polish . They started their crowing much sooner lol

Mine was crowing yesterday as he stood at the back door. I love that sound, its so cool!!

Some bloodlines are different within the breeds. I've had a serama rooster from one bloodline who had tiny spurs at nearly three, but I had one(my beloved Squeaker) from another bloodline who I bought at five months and had had his spurs twisted off already and had partially regrown them when I took him out of the shipping box. Chickens even within the same breed are so different it's generally a good idea to ask the breeder about the bloodline. Just be sure to enjoy watching him grow up.
