Rooster stalks and attacks strangers only

my 4 roos protect too and will flog a stranger.. when my grandkids come over i hug them tight and swat at the roos till they decide they are part of our family.. then they leave them alone.. i have to do this everytime they come over..2x a month..after they settle down i have the kids give them treats and tell them DO NOT RUN! if the kids run the roosters take off after them.. other wise they can sit on the ground and feed them with no problems. they can even go into the coop to get the eggs and into the run and are ignored by the roos...

Well, apparently he did not just try to flog my brother in law once.....he stalked him and repeatedly went after him. Apparently took three kicks from bro-in-law and one big kick from my dad to get him to back off a bit. Then they had to carry a rake around.

It is kind of funny.

That child's feet never touched the ground, of course.

I have been really sick and hardly outside at all......mostly just opening up the coop in the morning and closing it up at night. THe other day I went out a little early and the Giant Rooster flogged ME.

Stupid rooster.

I chased him around the yard a bit and have made it a point to go outside more and doing my usual "make him get outta the way" every time I am near him. Haven't had any problems since.

He is extremely territorial. Not a bad thing, considering my girls free range on a fenced half acre and we have tons of loose dog issues around here. I definitely do not worry about someone sneaking in my yard and stealing hens

Anyone know where I can buy a serious "DO NOT ENTER - BEWARE OF ROOSTER" sign for my gate? Not a joking "kung fu chicken" sign, but a "real" sign?

I have one of those. He's a really pretty little BO. He used to yell indiscriminately but now it's just if he sees a stranger.

Sounds pretty normal to me too. My DH was out by the coop the other day getting some stuff out of the barn and all my roos freaked out and were doing their danger call. I was looking around to see if we had another bold coyote or maybe a hawk. I looked and looked and didn't see anything wrong. My DH finished what he was doing and went back to the house and all was quiet. It finally occured to me that they hardly ever see DH and considerd him a threat.

I've got a Blue Andalusian who's just about 6 months old (handsomest boy ya ever seen). He's been getting a little itchy lately, and twice in the last week or so he made half hearted swipes at my legs as I was walking away from him.

Yesterday, as I was doing some work on the coop he decided that I was a full on intruder and got very aggressive. I think the power tools I was using really irritated him, or he thought they were a threat or something. But every time I turned my back the little jerk would work his way around behind me and try to attack. He's a silly little bird that weighs about 2 pounds and doesn't have spurs yet, but the thought of being startled by him (particularly while I'm making a cut with the circular saw) has got me all tuned up.

Worst part is tomorrow is the first time I'm going to have my neighbor chicken sit for me. Hope he doesn't cause any trouble while we're away.
