Rooster started escaping, could he be searching for a deceased pullet?

The only thing that has changed is that one of the pullets was euthanized 5 days ago, when she had a sever prolapse. Could that cause him to start escaping? It may seem dumb to think that way, but its the only thing that has changed, he had never escaped before her death. I have a 5 foot fence around my yard, I have been letting my flock free range since they were babies, they are now 7 months old. Yesterday my rooster escaped for the first time, i found him in my neighbors front yard crowing loudly. Today he escaped again, with a pullet, into my other neighbors back yard, also crowing loudly.
I do not know what i should do, besides locking him in the run.

I doubt it has anything to do with the deceased pullet. Some roos seem to like "patrolling" the larger area outside the run. At least the roosters I've had all do.

Trimming the flight feathers on one of his wings should keep him in the pen.

Thank you both, I am going to catch him tomorrow and trim one of his wings. I found article in the learning center of the website that shows how to do it. Hopefully he wont give me too much trouble
