Rooster starting to get aggressive

I don’t know what to do about this. I do not want an aggressive rooster. I have a two-year-old a four-year-old and an eight-year-old and a whole host of cousins that come over. None of them wanna go outside or come over because of the damn rooster. Any help is appreciated. On a sidenote, four of my girl hens got killed. That’s when this behavior started. I know he’s just doing his job, but I don’t know how to make him stop. I’m a new chicken owner as well. My husband ordered these chickens without doing any research and then told me the day of delivery that we were getting chicken so I’m learning as I go. Is it too late to train him and what do I do? He doesn’t have any big long spurs or anything yet, it’s mostly more scary than anything. He has scratched my daughter threw her pants, but it didn’t draw blood, but I just don’t know what to do. Do I need to get rid of him? We are currently incubating eggs And then also if they are roosters, what am I supposed to do about that? Sorry for the long post I just don’t know what to do.

Soup the aggressive cockerel and wait and see what the temperament is of any cockerels you get is. An aggressive roo can do serious damage to small children and can even blind them. I wouldn't keep him a day longer

With several small children I would not keep a cockerel/rooster at all.

Invite the aggressive guy to dinner, this way he serves a purpose.
 
yay yay yay yay! I trained my rooster too! I can’t barely stand to read the horribleness people, recommend for these poor birds just out there doing their job! We take the time to train all other animals, but poor roosters get hit, pinned, hung upside down, rehomed, or worse killed.

They’re sooooo trainable!
 
Very often the combination of luck, inexperienced people, and flock mate birds in confinement produces an aggressive rooster.

When people write advice on here, they do it from their point of view of their coop, run, and climate.

In a true backyard flock, with small children sharing the space do not have, or keep roosters. They will ruin the whole experience and can be dangerous.

If you are going to hatch, 50% cockerels is a reasonable expectation. If culling birds is difficult for you to do, don’t hatch, buy chicks.

Ways to remove roosters from your flock, (it will be such a relief) is to give them away, assume they are going to another flock and don’t ask questions. Contact local 4H groups for people that have chickens. Or a local poultry club. Those people will understand. Or dispatch him yourself. If you can’t eat him, bury him or dispose in the garbage.

Get him out of your space, it is the responsible thing to do.

I have a 10 month old speckled sussex rooster, he bites my hens and rips there feathers out, now he also attacks my pack of mini heelers everytime they go outside. good dogs,they wont fight back but dont want to be outside anymore. now he has been attacking me everytime I go outside,hes so pretty is he fixable?

Nope, time for soup. You can't fix him being rough with the hens, you can't make him stop attacking others and other animals and you can only rarely make a rooster stop attacking you. Not only that but he'll pass on his horrible attitude to any chicks he fathers. Deal with him now before someone gets hurt, he's not worth the trouble
