How long should I let her go like this. She can't eat and won't drink. I don't want her to be suffering.

I gave 1 drop 3x day, it's tricky but try to get a drop (not mixed) at the tip/side of beak or if you can drop into the front of the beak but NOT down the throat. Expect to get sprinkled with PolyVisol as it will try shaking it out of it's mouth.

Are you mixing the some boiled yolk with it's feed & some water? I hand fed mine in the beginning, then it would flop around to get around, if you leave water in the area put in a very shallow lid with paper towel under it. Mine would spill it when flopping around but as it got better (took forever, 2wks) could walk & make it to the feed itself.

You need to be the judge how much longer you want to try, if she's not eating, how long has it been? Is she really weak? Is she quiet? How is it's breathing? It's hard to nurse animals, they can't tell us where it hurts & fortunately they don't have to suffer, the hard part is WE need to make the decision when it's time to let it go.... She seems to be very strong when I pick her up. She flaps her wings and moves her feet. Her head may be less wobbly. I will see how she is in the morning and if no change I will put her down.

I'm in agreement with you, it's time. Now the hardest part....I've never had to do it yet, those that I haven't been able to save passed on their own which made me feel guilty cause maybe I tried to long? I've read about using a garden lopper on their neck but think you said yours is 6wk so probably feathered which the lopper may not cut through or pop their neck, both fast but HARD to do. I'm too chicken, would probably call my Vet or find someone to do it.

There is a thread on BYC, think it's about "dispatching chicks". So sorry for your having to go through this, it's really the hardest part of raising animals.

Oh I didn't see this post, sounding good, I would give her another day or two. It really depends on how much time & work you want to put into this having a 50/50 chance. Good luck & keep us posted.

I gave 1 drop 3x day with a toothpick to the tip of his beak. Got messy but wasn't about to take a chance & drop it into his mouth, afraid would go down the wrong pipe. I did it straight cause mixed in water, not getting the full benefit although I've read others doing it that way.
