rooster (that i don't have anymore)

No and Ideal is worst then most. I have seen birds from Ideal that look NOTHING like what the breed is supposed too. I got 2 buff cochins several years ago. They looked like buff Rocks or Orps with some a few feathers down their legs.

Ideal may advertise Ameraucanas, but all they have is EEs. They are in it for $$$, they don't care whether they mislead people or not.

that's odd. i got my blue red oeg from there this year and ended up with a pretty good little batch.

I also think he looks a lot like a poor HQ Golden Neck d'Uccle. His comb and beak color looks a little off, the color pattern is not great, Yellow legs, but he does have no waddles, feathered legs, and is bearded like a d'Uccle. From Ideal's website states

Other site will state similar. So, if the bird does not look quit right they are not to be held accountable for not producing SQ birds, which is not what they are selling.

I'm not ruling out other breeds or possible mixes. This is just my observation.

it was in an assortment as well. if somebody got that when they ordered gold neck d'uccles, they'd be ticked.. but in an assortment, well.. it's an assortment.. lol. of good and bad.. haha. he was so pretty. i sold him at a yard sale. LOL

not a d'uccle of any kind to sparsly feathered legs and no vulture hocks. on top of that his comb is way off. look at my avatar thats a self blue d'uccle from ideal.
that chicken doesnt even represent the breed if anything hes more of a booted bantam. Ameraucana Bantam (Araucanas) that come from hatchiers are nothing but ee's you can only get them true and pure from breeders. he very well could be a feather footed ee

Its a mutt! Only thing that can be said for certin is that he's a Red Pyle color which many breeds carry.
He's pea combed, non-waddled, looks like he might have a small beard an muffs giving off the look of the EE
But he's feather footed an yellow legged which you dont typically see in EE, so he more then likely has a feathered an yellow legged breed in him somewhere. I wouldnt think Old English of any sort because OE dont have yellow legs. Now although he doesnt have the look, the Barhma is 1. yellow legged 2. pea combed
Not saying thats what he is mixed of because I could be very wrong, but its just something to consider.

Doesn't look like a pea comb to me though...isn't that more of a rosecomb?? I have six EEs and none of their pea combs look like that.

That wasn't a rosecomb.. And not a single comb for sure. Not sure what kind of comb that is.

Nearly all hatcheries are selling cross bred chickens of all breeds. (I'm not bashing hatcheries)

Hatcheries feather sex there chicks to tell males from female as day old chicks, in order for this to work you have to cross a fast feathering male over a slow feathering female (cross breeding).

Its a large pea comb. nothing about hatchery birds is perfect. google "Pea combed rooster", theres actually combs that are larger then the rooster in your post.
