I have put a roo who started picking on one of the hens earlier this week in time-out in a dog crate...he has food and water and can sit and stand...any recommendations how long to confine him? This is new behavior; he is about 8 month old ; some mixed breed and up until now has been very nonaggressive(nonaggressive with me too). He is the only male in my small flock and all 3 hens have been submissive to his 'attentions' including the one he has started chasing, scaring her enough she hides in the coop and won't come out for food ,water or even treats. When she 'realized' he wasn't going to come after her again she was right out there with the other girls for yoghurt earlier today...thanx for feedback
