rooster trouble

I currently have 6 hens that I got last year and 8 "babies", 2 of the "babies" are cockerels and the rest are pullets. One of my roosters is a maran rooster and he is the one we identified first as a cockerel. He sort of struts around and is more out there than our other cockerel, he is an easter egger and hangs out more with the ladies. Does he do that because the other cockerel is picking on him or do the hens just like him more?

How old are the cockerels? If four months or more, the behavior is normal for cockerels just coming into their hormones. Hanging out in proximity to the girls is a sign that the cockerels are becoming consumed with the urge to mate. It's normal for them to focus attention on the opposite sex and to show signs of competition to possess a harem.

They are both three and a half months old.

Yeah, they're both probably feeling the first tingling of hormones. Life should get interesting very soon in your flock.

Things will be more interesting, and you may want to keep only one of these boys. If you like both of them now, hang on to them longer, and see who behaves better. There should be no structural problems with the chosen cockerel, and no signs of human aggression, at all. Also no injuries from overaggressive mating attempts with the pullets.
Your flock is still pretty small to have two roosters, so one, at most, should remain.
