Hey there! Random question... What is a roosters vent supposed to look like? While checking my flock for mites, I noticed his is the same bright red color and texture of his comb and wattle. Is that normal? He doesn't seem bothered by it. He was more offended that I kept looking at his junk.

    Welcome to BYC Jennwthechicken,

Don't worry. He'll eventually get used to it. I checked my chickens regularly and the roo was always the one to put up a fuss about having his rear inspected. [IMG]
He'll change color back there usually, depending on his skin color and his.... "mood". Don't worry unless his face gets much redder while you're checking back there. [IMG] Then you know for sure he's been embarrassed. Hhehe
