Today my kids and I took a walk down to the woodlot located about 150 yards behind the house. We had three dogs and cat with us too. I could hear squabbling among the group of six American Dominique housed in a bachelor pad used to prep a garden for next year. One was giving a distress call as he ran well east of where they normally free-range. Then I could hear him approaching. Kids and dogs were making all sort of noise as well. After about 15 minutes I could hear something walking through the heavy brush towards us. After a little bit the rooster stepped out among us. By this time it was nearly dark. We all walked back slowly so the rooster could keep pace. He rejoined his brethren on roost. I have seen this stuff before when bachelor groups start wanting to bust up.
