Rooster was attack by wild animal. Now is hunched eyes closed mouth open not eating or drinking.

Hi all,
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back. I started putting the hen and Rooster out in dog kennels by the chicken coop during the day. They all have been enjoying it. The Rooster has opened his other eye up other o er half way now. So I decided to put him back in the coop this evening with my littel hen( the one that was unharmed). They where both very excited lol. But I am continuing to keep the other hen separate for now. Though she is healing up quite nicely and almost completely healed now. Not all of her feathers have come back yet. I have had this happen before and hen never got her feathers backs so the roosters would end up cutting her open when he mounted her. I ended up having to remove her. Any recommendations for chicken vest that would help prevent that?
Thank you everyone 💓
I'm glad to hear he's doing well enough to go back outside. I'm sure he was very happy to see the little hen!

For the injured hen, once she's healed up and feathered in, you can try a hen saddle to see if that helps.

I've used them before and they seems to help protect the back fairly well. You can get them from Etsy, Ebay or Amazon. There's many different styles.
I'd just make sure to check fit a few times a week. Inspect the saddle regularly for any loose threads/stitches and of course, monitor the feathers/skin under the saddle.

Hello everyone and happy Monday,
The Rooster is doing great and is back to a 100%.
My hen is still separated because of her feathers loss. She has a permanent baldspot where the feathers never grew back. But don't worrie you can't tell from looking at her lol. Her other feathers cover it up. I did order some chicken vest for her but sadly they where way too small when they came in. I am trying to find one that comes down the side more to give her more protection if anyone know of a brand or web site for a good one that they have gotten please let me know.
She does still have wet poo everyday but she will also have normal. Her wet poo is very smelly and she makes a " farting" sound right before she has it. I will attach pic. If you have any suggestions on what is causing this or a treatment I can use. Please let me know.
Thank you Everyone 😊

Glad to hear Rooster is doing great!

Hen looks so serious, I love the purple. For a saddle, you may have to measure her and have someone custom make a saddle for her. Just an idea. I think some on Etsy will still take special orders and make what you want.

Has she been dewormed? The poop doesn't look too bad, it's just a loose poop. You could try offering her some probiotics before you decide to deworm and see if that remedies the issue. You can give her purchased probiotics, 1tablespoon of quality plain yogurt daily or a little buttermilk with white cooked rice, often these will help firm up the poop.
