rooster went after our daughter

Chicken.Lytle :

Normally I recommend that people learn how to haze an aggressive rooster. It involves speed-walking after the rooster for an extended time. Think about how you would feel if a black SUV followed you while you were trying to get away from it.

However, since a small child is involved, I am more inclined to cull or rehome the rooster.

I love your blog !!!

My thoughts exactly. Attacking a little kid like that? That rooster wouldn't have lived two more minutes around here. It's easy to find a replacement rooster.

This. I have a 3.5 and 2 year old and if any pet did this they would be gone.

Being new, I was scared to post this, but it seems like I think the same as most of you. When I was younger, my parents had 2 roosters, along with some hens. I was attacked by each rooster at separate times, and I can still remember how it felt to have them knock me to the ground and flap at my face. I don't think they clawed me, I don't have scars, but it really terrorized me. My dad culled each one after the attacks.

I think it would be good to rehome or cull your rooster so your little girl doesn't get any more attacks.

I tried to reforma rooster, it didn't work. Finally after hearing my daughter say one day how she wished she could play in the backyard again, I got rid of him.

When your rooster attacks, it's the begining of the end. Don't wait until someone gets hurt. Roos are easily replaced.
