Hi, I have a rooster who I got from a friend last summer. I just noticed this today, but half of his face is swollen, the other half is completely fine. He’s the only chicken with swelling and I have no clue on what to do or how to help him.

The first photo is the non-swollen side and the other photos are the swollen side.

Maybe he was bitten or stung by something? Is he acting normal otherwise?
He’s acting completely normal, the only abnormal behavior I saw was he was like hiding the swollen side of his face from me, but that’s about it

Have you added any new birds to the flock in the last few weeks? It could be swelling from a sinus infection and conjunctivitis from a respiratory disease, such as MG. But a peck or sting might be a possibility. Watch for any bubbles or crusty drainage from the eye, nasal drainage, crackles while breathing, or gasping.
