So our lead rooster, Attila the hun, got his comb all picked apart last night, there was blood everywhere. I cleaned it of as best as I could, and rubbed neosporin on it. I quarantined him from the the rest of the flock with some molasses water and some mash. Is there anything else I should be doing for shock, pain, or somthing else? Please help! Attila is the son of our late beloved cochin rooster and we'd like to keep the line going! Thank you all so much.

If it is cold where u live- probalby an extreme case of frostbite. I have seenn the bleeding happen mildly with my hens with their frostbite. don't panic if thats the case- jsut puts some coconut oil or vaseline on the comb. If this does't work, contact a vet that works with poultry. :fl

I live in MN but it's too warm to get frostbite right now...
