Update: It wasn’t a canker and ITS OUT!! Penguin has been a brave boy the mineral oil worked like a charm to soften it up. I took a shed feather courtesy of Penguin’s hen, Honey Mustard, sterilized it, and used it to gently pull it out. He’s still got a bit of gunk in there he wouldn’t let me get. He scratched there and I checked again and there’s a bit of blood (not flowing blood it wasn’t coming out of his nose) and some irritation in there. He’s going to be watched closely and I’m going to be trying to find some antifungal/antiseptic stuff to put on his sniffer until it’s healed up. Thank you for everyone’s help. I breathed a sigh of relief when it came out, and I’m sure Penguin did too!

I’ll be using between Vetericyn Antimicrobial and Blu-Kote until it heals up. I dare to say I’m almost glad this happened. While I had him, I did his mite/lice preventative treatment and noticed a small cut on his one foot pad that was tender pink. It was still nice and squishy like it should be so I’ll be spraying that with Microcyn AH Poultry Care so he doesn’t get his first case of bumblefoot along with his first (and hopefully last) Rhinolith. My poor unlucky boy lol

I’ll be grabbing the Vetericyn tomorrow. I’m going to be re-cleaning with some peroxide on a q-tip in the morning until I can get the Vetericyn after work. Once I get the Vetericyn that’s all I’ll use. Biggest thing is having no infection develop and no re-clog
