Rooster with comb color changing between purple and red

Has it been humid or rainy there?

I don't think that amount of purple is indicating organ failure.

I think he has a fungal growth on his comb.

Over the past few weeks, it's been hot on some days, average on others and for the past few nights it's been rainy.

What should I do about the fungal growth on his comb?

So there's nothing to worry about?
What about his crop? It's the evening now in the UK and that's when i've just noticed it being purple (and it was the evening on the first occasion too). A few days ago, it was quite warm and sunny and he was sitting down.
Well... it's always hard to say that there's no problem, I'm not a vet and I'm not there. My birds don't always have full crops, that varies. They tend to store a bunch of food in their crop during the day to give themselves " midnight snacks" while sleeping. My roo usually doesn't have the big crop that the ladies do. He's good to let the girls know when there's good stuff to eat rather than eating it himself. You know your own birds' normal behavior- if you see him acting different that's when you pay closer attention. You'll learn when his breast is thin (keel is prominent, he just feels thin), or overweight. My guy is rarely fatty or as plump as the girls, but he looks like he'd make a good meal :) his behavior is usually the first thing that I notice. Is he as perky as normal, or sitting all fluffed up or listless. My guy is always diligent of everything around and is a good protector of the girls. If he was ignoring his duties I'd pay close attention. It's just not like him and tells me that he doesn't feel good.

Kiki posted the fungal creams that work best.

:thumbsup

By the way..... I have a brahma hen whose comb will go full purple. Really really purple!
She will sit and pant for a few minutes when that happens. I expect to lose her to heart failure.

If your rooster were suffering organ failure there are either no signs or he will act really off then suddenly pass. At least that has been my experience.

Whenever I try to give him sunflower seeds as a treat, he always does the "ACK ACK ACK" food call and lets the girls eat them. He is always on guard too. He trusts me and I can pick him up but he puffs up his feathers, runs and jumps up at my parents whenever they are around him or the flock (I'm always asked to go outside to protect them against him whenever they're out :P). His behaviour doesn't seem to have changed.

Thanks for all your help, I really do appreciate it.
I will buy some of the cream for him. Just wondering, do you think the fungus has been causing any discomfort for him?
I would say no.
;)

Purple in the back. This guy is healthy I promise you! The creams kiki linked can be found in the female hygeine isle or the foot care isle of your store.:)

I've just had a feel of his crop again and it still seems to be just a little bigger than a grape and compacted food pellets. It used to be like a tennis ball. However, the hens have squishy tennis ball sized crops. The hens and the rooster seem to be acting normal but I just don't get it.
