Rooster with comb problems

My poor little silkie rhode island red cross rooster named Tucky is having comb issues. His normally big red comb has turned slightly white and is peeling. It also has little black things on it that look almost like scabs. None of my other chickens are having these problems, but I want to be sure that it is nothing serious. I live in a very dry climate, so I am wondering if it has anything to do with this problem. Thank you for your help!

I don't know what it could be especially without a picture but a couple of my hens have are dry and white at he tips of their combs. I thought maybe it was frostbite but have been too busy to actually figure out what it is. Hope you get some answers!
