Hello! About an hour ago I noticed our rooster, about 10 month old silver laced wyandotte, standing alone and one eye shut. I was able to catch him, which is very unusual even with the shut eye. I opened it and put some vetericyn ophthalmic gel into it hoping it'd flush anything bad out. I just grabbed him again and it looks worse. I don't think its the gel I'm seeing. It almost looks like tissue coming from his eye. Please see pics. We had another bird we culled not long ago that had a bad eye also. Now I'm reading this could be contagious?!? She was stinky near the eye and oozy. On the roo this is the first I've noticed, but I think I smell a stench too. I have an antibiotic that can treat infectious coryza. Could it be that?

I would rinse his eye out with saline using a dropper (1/8 teaspoon of salt to 1 cup of water,) then rub a good amount of coconut oil on it going up and down with a Q-tip twice daily. This took care of my little chicks eye infection in just a few days. :)
