My Serama rooster that is a year and a half old has a strange lump above his eye. It is mostly exposed and it is whitish grey in color. It feels squishy but also kind of hard and I think I might have seen a vein in it. His other eye also had a little bit of gooey fluid. Does anyone know what this is or what caused it? He was sick a few months ago with what was I think a respiratory infection. I have him medicine called VetRK and he seemed to be doing a lot better after that. Im assuming this lump has something to do with his past sickness but im not sure. He is also not as active as he used to be and he does not mate with the hens anymore that I have seen. I dont have any pictures sorry :hmm

Sounds like it might be Coryza but without any pictures it would be hard to tell.

Can you post some pictures of the eyes? Is there a bad odor or not? What were all of the symptoms when you thought he had a respiratory infection recently? Is there any bubbles or foam in an eye, nasal drainage, sneezing, or gasping?

He did seem to be gasping a little bit. There is no smell that I noticed and I also dont see any bubbles or foam in the eyes. When he had a respiratory infection he would just stand in one spot for a long time with his eyes closed and his tail down, he wasn't very active, and he did seem to be struggling to breath a little bit. When he was really sick im pretty sure the lump was there a little bit but now it has gotten bigger.

Pictures would help. Do you see any pus around the eyes? If it stinks, it could be coryza, but mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) does not smell bad, and it also can cause swollen eyelids. Could he have gotten pecked in his eye? You can flush the eyes with saline or eye wash, and apply a dab of either Terramycin or plain Neosporin twice a day.

Actually I dont think it is coryza, It is a clearish lump in his upper eyelid.
