Rooster with multiple sores on face

No ID on the root cause. I'm still wondering if cancer is a possibility because the original site is still not healed.

HOWEVER.... the giant holes going into his sinus? One has healed! With tissue! It doesn't look great but it's healed! He's acting fine. Continuing the high baytril dose. I'm going to follow up with the vet soon again. I just had to share. Unfortunately I didn't get a good photo of the left side but here's the right (with the original sore):

There's that sweet boy! :)
Yes, I do think cancer is a good possibility.
I am glad that one of the holes in the sinus has healed!
Keep us posted on your vet visit. Thank you for continuing the thread and giving us updates.

I haven't updated in a while. He's mostly healed on the open sinus side but the original sore on his right earlobe is HUGE now. He's off drugs and i'm just cleaning the sores alternating chlorohexadine and betadine. They aren't bothering him and he's back to being his talkative self. No. Idea. It's looking like one side was infection and the other side is a tumor? I'm relieved his sinus is mostly closed and his behavior is normal.

He was doing ok for a long while but with open sores. No local vets would take chickens anymore due to Newcastle so I've just been cleaning him and watching behavior.

His behavior suddenly changed Sunday night. He was a little unsteady when he walked in and jumped onto his spot on the couch for the evening. I made a note to make some calls in the morning.

Morning brought horror. The poor guy was kicking against his crate, flipped over, neck arching all the way back.

I found an emergency vet who could take poultry and rushed him there. Massive inner ear infection.

They cleaned it out. Debrided his sores. Put him on meds and taught me tube feeding. He lost almost all muscle control and balance but multiple vets have told me he has a strong chance of recovery.

Tissue sent for biopsy and culture.

I hate doing this to him though. You can't explain what's going on to them. Uuuuugh. The vets were positive and said not to put him down. I just don't know. He's still a love bug but this must be terrifying for him.

Any tube feeding advice? I don't think he's getting enough. I'm asking the vet tomorrow as well.

Just before.
