While out in the backyard with my chickens today, I noticed that my Partridge Cochin Roo had a swollen toe. It looked about 1.5-2 times as big as the others and was redder than usual (his toes are slightly red already, I read that this is normal for some roosters). The only problem I see that the toe is causing him is the fact that he can't seem to keep his balance while mating. Also, I have noticed that he has been sleeping on the floor instead of on the roost, could this be because of his toe, could it be the reason his toe looks this way?
