Petsmart or Petco sometimes sells the metronidazole in a product called API General Cure, but make sure that it contains metronidazole. You can Google Fish Zole, and many online pet storea and pigeon supply companies sell it. You would need rushed shipping though.

yes, but I would try to give it whole if it is a tablet or in a little egg or yogurt if powder.

You could give him 3-3.5 ml orally. That would be in the maximum range which is 20 mg per pound 2-3 times a day. Don't give that much by injection.

1/2 ml = 9 mg/kg, which is the very low end of what's listed in veterinary formularies.

They increased the dosage yesterday to 1 ml twice a day. I told them to give up to 3.5 ml 2-3 times a day, but give orally. Does that sound good-- I think you can give 5-20 mg per pound 3 times a day according to Plumbs?
