Here are some pics. He seems to be making progress and is eating a tiny bit. Turns out he is loaded with mites. I have elector PSP on hand so will deal with that promptly. His eye is also shut. I think his eye lid got pecked. But before isolation his eye was opened, so I think his actual eye ball is OK. Anything I should do to it?

@tjs22 Where are you located - to me his comb and wattle coloring is from frostbite - does he have any toes that are turning black too?
I agree with @oldhenlikesdogs he looks sick instead of beaten and the poop is questionable too. Could be from the mite infestation and not eating properly. I would also get him on some poultry vitamins for several days in a row, then once a week to see if that will bolster him up. A teaspoon of beef liver a day would be good too since he was infested - extra protein along with essential vitamins and nutrients.

My boy is drinking alot of water (via spoon) , but little food....can't peck...eating alot of applesauce, but no grain, etc. I do have the electrolites for his water. He stands, but falls over easily.

@Sinful chick it's good that your boy is drinking! If he cannot pick up food, but will take applesauce, try offering him wet chicken feed - applesauce is fine as a treat, but it doesn't have the nutrition a recovering rooster needs. You can even add a little of the applesauce to the wet feed to make it more tasty for him

He seems to be making steady but slow progress. He is looking more alert, (still "sleepy" allot though). He is eating more and drinking more. Still not enough for a chicken but progress. His eye that was shut is opening. I checked his bum that was crawling with mites yesterday and they are completely gone. Will pick up vitamins today. Really thinking he got frost bite from that wind storm after he got pecked alot. Hope he continues to get better

I'm glad to hear he is improving an that the mites are gone
Hopefully he makes a full recovery. I would also get a fecal float to check for worms and continue a quarantine period to watch for any other signs of illness.

Thank you! How's your boy doing?

He "thrashed around" alot last night. I can't figure out why or, basically, what he wants. When his eyes are open, I can just "tell" that he's trying to tell me something. I felt last night almost like he was trying to commit suicide! His poor neck is so floppy and he kept nose-diving...hard..into his blanket. Dont know whether to restrain him or let him be...?? I feel so useless and, I swear, he's giving me an ulcer from obsessivly worrying!!

Thrashing around is not good - do you feel like he was having a seizure? Thrashing can be neurological damage due to his wounds or sometimes injury can stress them and allow an underlying disease like Marek's to present.

The floppy neck is concerning - even if it's from the attack, he may benefit from Vitamin E, B1 and the mineral Selenium. Vitamin E can be found in most poultry vitamins, but you can use human Vitamin E capsules (400IU) along with 1/2tablet of B-Complex (no iron) if you wish. Selenium is found in eggs, tuna, crushed nuts and sunflower seeds - only a small amount is needed.

I'm very sorry that he is not doing well.

I am completely illiterate when it comes to technology!! I have both pics and videos, but don't know what to Do first! (duh!) How do i get to point A to point B?
