Rooster without comb / oxygen levels

We recently rescued a rooster who was used for fighting. His comb and wattle were completely clipped off. He has now come down with a respiratory infection and we were wondering since he doesn’t have a comb, is there another way to determine his oxygen levels visually. He also has blunt force trauma so he is being given pain medication and medication for the respiratory issues.

His face is a good indicator however the comb/wattle bring good oxygen indicators isn't exactly true. Many things can influence color like mood and temperature.
