What could cause this? He is almost a year old. He was fine last night but woke up to this. He was up against the corner of the coop. He's usually a runner but is just rocking back and forth like he can't walk. He is squatting. Can I fix this or is it too late?

You need to try to figure out what he may have gotten into yesterday. Look for rotting compost or something moldy and rotten or scummy water puddles.

If you can, get some activated charcoal and dissolve it in some water and get the water down him. Add a little sugar to it and he may drink on his own. If not, use an oral syringe and put it into his esophagus and then squirt at least a fourth of a cup down into his crop. Notice the glottis and airway in the center of the throat. Avoid getting water in there. Aim for the chicken's far right side of the throat.

This maybe will neutralize any toxin he got into.

Sorry about your rooster. Has it been freezing weather there? I would check his feet for evidence of frostbite, look for green bruising or swelling of his legs, numbness or paralysis in either leg, and curled under toes. An injury jumping might have hurt his legs. While at it, look under his belly for any evidence of lice or mites. Tell us what his poop looks like as well. Isolate him in a basket or dog crate and offer him some water. If you have electrolytes or Poultry NutriDrench that would be bood as well. If he drinks, then try to get him eating some cooked egg or wet chicken feed.
