I have two roosters and twenty five hens. One of my roosters is a big buff Cochin who is the sweetest. He doesn’t crow and he only occasionally breeds with the hens that I’ve seen. He seems to be a pretty good boy. He causes no problems at all. I plan to keep him.

now my other rooster, a gorgeous EE with yellow legs who was raised with my other Roo is A total brat. He fights with the hens, he fights with my drakes, he mates with my female ducks, he mates with my guinea hens, and he is constantly trying to mate with the hens. Anything that passes him he either fights with or tries to mate them.
He recently was fighting with a hen so bad I thought I had a secret rooster but no it was a hen.

he finally got her down and was trying to breed her but he kept pecking her on the head. I had to chase him off. Now this hen won’t go into the coop at night. I don’t want to get rid of him because he is beautiful. I would like to try getting him to behave if that’s possible. If all else fails I’ll try to rehome him.

What is your plan to change him?

he is almost a year old.
I have only had calm cockerels/roosters so I don't have experience with the wild ones. He is young. I get that you don't want to get rid of him right now. Could you separate him from the flock into his own coop to see if he either calms down or until you decide what is best or get some good advice.

Same happened to me.. soon as i turned my back he became the bully again.
He then started attackin people and he became chicken soup..I dealt with his behavior because he was beautiful..i will never make that mistake again.

The exact same thing happened with me. I had a rooster named Falcon who was an Easter egger. He was grey and black though, with red marks on him. He was so beautiful and took good care of the hens, but he was very aggressive when mating and would even chase the hens. It got so bad that the hens would run and panic when they saw him. On his last few days, we had to put him in a cage and he tried to fight with my other rooster (they don’t really fight often so falcon was getting reallllyyyy aggressive) ) so we had to be brave and we culled him. rip falcon

He may be chasing her off and fighting her because she wont let him mate her. That's a sign to the rooster that shes not part of his flock. Not sure you can really do anything about it you cant make her be submissive or make him accept her. Either get rid of her or him. I personally would get rid of him since he seems like a pain but I also dont have any roosters because I dont want to deal with them.

He would only get super hormonal and chase the hens right when we opened their coop and right when it was getting dark and they would soon go inside the coop. During normal day hours he mated them but he wouldn’t chase them Like he did at I also noticed he didn’t do the mating dance after a while, and he would just jump on top of them and bite and pull on their comb.

I was mainly talking about the fighting with everyone and mating with everyone. How many hens do you have with how many roosters? A stressed hen will not give you eggs and getting chased, bit, fought with, and constantly mated will definitely stress them out.
