I've got 10 Buff Opringtons that are almost 5 weeks old. They were sexed female at birth, but I know that isn't 100%. This is the only one with a little pink on the comb and any form of waddles coming in. Do you think I have a cockeral? It's also the friendliest of the bunch.

I'm getting roo vibes with that much comb and wattles and color at 5 weeks of age.

Buff Orps can be harder to sex, but that one is showing some definite roo characteristics....the friendliest (bravest) one of the bunch, comb and wattle development early.

Watch for another couple of weeks. My guess is that comb and wattle will take off quite noticeably from the others.

Your statistical chances are spot on. Sexing is about 90% accurate. 1 in 10...yep.
