Roosters and coops

Do roosters need a separate coop from laying hens? I read this from another source and don't believe this.

No they do not unless they are causing problems in the flock. Multiple roosters in a small flock or confined area can be problematic.

Yes and no.

Yes, if you're going to keep a bachelor flock and only set mating groups together in season. Which is more likely to work with non-game breeds, though *some* males of any breed *may* refuse to tolerate other males.

No, if you're going to keep a year-round flock with a rooster with an appropriate amount of hens (larger groups of hens *may* allow keeping more than one rooster with them -- depending on breed and individual personality).
