Roosters comb is turning black

There's no concern unless it gets infected or something. The black part will porsbly just fall off eventually

So should I just go about normal habits and just keep and eye on it
Yep
If the whole comb got black and fell off, then you'd probably just need to watch him more in extream temperatures since they use their combs to regulate temperature. But just that amount should be fine.

i was out checking my chickens today and I notice the back of my roosters comb was starting too turn black, any explanations?

I don’t think that you are dealing with frostbite, especially since you live in Georgia, and it looks like some discoloration that is seen sometimes in roosters and hens with very large combs. Usually that type of comb discoloration occurs near the tips and the rear of the comb. It can happen with excitement, stress, and with cool temperatures. My black copper Marans rooster looked like that at times, but would become redder later. I might be wrong, but unless you have had temperatures in the teens or below, that should not be frostbite.

How low was your lowest temperature recently? Can you take another picture in the sunlight tomorrow? I am not convinced that your rooster has frostbite. We never see it here unless it is in single digits or below zero. If he got wet in the rain, and it then dropped below freezing maybe, but it has to be really cold for frostbite in a comb.
