Roosters gone crazy? what just happened?

We just came across this…I’m so glad I’m not the only one who has a roo that goes about finding inadequate objects. He seems to have a special branch on the ground. He will do a dance too it and then helps himself. I was worried about slivers, but at this point…whatever makes him happy.
p.s. he also tried to mount a hen and fell off. We have decided to just let it play out in hopes he figures it out on his own.
