roosters in the nest box

I definitely praise Him for the beauty of our pets, and I pray for them to have good "chicken" wisdom, or "dog" wisdom, etc and for a long life of good health and entertainment for us.
Thank the All-Almighty for all things.

I thought I heard (or read) somewhere that Silkie roosters were more prone than other breeds to sit a nest of eggs since as a breed Silkies have such a strong broody instinct. We used to have Silkies a long time ago, and right now the only Silkie we have is a hen, so I can't tell the roo side of things.

Has anyone else heard that or can verify that firsthand? Or am I just makin' stuff up in my not-yet-old age? Is this an overactive imagination? or reality? Calling Silkie owners to verify...

hi is it normal to find roosters in a nest box, last night i walked into the coop and found my two roosters and 3 hens in a 1square foot nest box it wasnt cold but my roosters are kinda like enjoying the nest box more than my hens.

the dark blue chickchick near the water feeder is a hen called jimbo/jimjims who is trying to squash herself in the nesting area, the others in the nesting box are boys, there are three boys and three hens in total, works well for them as their coop is one of the biggest pre made ones sold in the uk and they have two huge runs attached for space from each other though am going to be rehoming one of the lads with someone nokill.
typical, the poor girls do all the work laying eggs and they dont get a look in in the comfy spot.

My BB red sit and hatched on is own. And was a great care taker. He would roost on the ground with his brood snuggle under him. He took his role very seriously.
