Roosters & layer feed? ATTN: Old Pros...

Just wondering if layer feed has any effect on the maturation rate of roos.... I have an EE roo that seems to be growing slow,wondering if the layer feed (Purina Layena) has any type of hormones or anything that might be affecting him,or my other 2 roos ? I am wanting him to hurry up & grow up & do his Thang w/ his 12 girls.... any idea?

I don't know if it has any effect on fast they mature or not, but I feed Flock Raiser because I don't like my roos to have all the extra calcium that's in layer feed. It's hard on their bodies since they can't get rid of it like a hen does.

Yes, I just keep a dish of oyster shell out for the hens.

Hmmmmm I think I will switch back to Flock Raiser as well... I used to get eggs out the ying yang w/ it,& just add oyster shell.
