Roosters - Pros and Cons

I purchased what I had hoped were all pullets for my backyard flock. Now one has become a beautiful rooster. What are the pros and cons of keeping a rooster with a small flock of only six?

Are roosters difficult?

With egg production, does this affect the eggs if gathered daily for human consumption?

Are roosters mean as I hear they can be?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

my roos so far are frindlier and more laid back then my hens. i have yet to have any issues with them, i actually like them the best! as far as eggs go i dunno mine are'nt laying i think i read that there's no differance. but i also heard that roos are mean. i guess it depends on the chickens personality.

I love roosters, they are pretty and I love hearing them crow!

fertile eggs are fine to eat. just remember to pick the eggs before the hens start setting.
