Roosters Trained To Fight

It is a physical impossibility to train a rooster to fight another rooster. It can not be done.

Roosters naturally fight other roosters in an attempt to dominate them in an effort to assemble a harem, end of story.

If any rooster refuses to fight the dominant rooster, then the dominant rooster will let the shrinking violet rooster live in peace. You might say that when it comes to roosters that what goes around comes around.

Why don't you approach your dad's neighbor and offer to let him use the tick infested property for a walk or run on which to grow off his young chickens? If you play your cards right you may even earn some money for your troubles and get free eggs in the bargain.

Not that i know anything about rooster fights, but I remember reading in NYtimes a article on it. The photos of razor and spears that are strapped on spurs is some thing I will never forget. It talked about how roosters are trained to use. The whole article could have been made up for all I know, but the NYTIMES is resalable most of the time. My dad lives in city I live 2 hours away in rural area. I am case of city boy alwayswanting the country.

Toms are typically very noisy. Even hens are big enough to be left alone by hawks.

I doubt turkeys eat any more ticks than chickens or guineas do. Unless you have good tall fencing best not to get turkeys as they can be hard to contain. Hawks will take young turkeys, but I haven't had them bother the adults.

If the New York Times would publish an article on how to make a hen lay eggs, begin to set, or how to train a rooster not to crow, then many of the questions asked by the good people posting here would be answered.

It seems from reading your reply that the Times gave you the impression that the editorial board of the NYT could provide the answers to the 3 questions that I asked.
If I am wrong about the depth of the all knowing wisdom of the NYT please accept my apology.
