Roosters

My name is Kim and I am new to the group. I currently have 7 hens about one year old. I ordered a few more chicks for May, one is suppose to be a rooster. Plymoth Rock. My question may be silly, but how hard on the hens are the roosters in general. We are all very happy the way things are. I thought a rooster would help protect the flock and wanted to experiment with raising my own. I'm not sure if I really want a rooster. Thanks

A rooster is a great addition to ones flock..
1. The hens will be happier
2. He will establish order
3. Soon you will have baby chicks

4. A normal rooster will not be hard in them>
