ok this is rocky. he is the wild one. the one that will get your leg in a minute if you try to keep him from getting too close to your leg. he has gotten me a couple times, gotten my daughter especially if she runs and also gotten a friend of ours. he is little but have to keep eye on him. i do love him.

and this is george. he is at the bottom. i love him and feel sorry for him. i am for the under dog. he doesnt get at the girls as much as the other two do. he will go out through the yard by himself even if the girls are around but the other two if they see the girls its on. i try to keep them away but its getting frustrating.

thats why they are up here on the swing cause if im not out in the yard with them keeping the boys away they run to the poarch UGH!!!

I vote for George the underdog. I had three roos also. The headboy- thought he was the king, middle-the meanie, and Bo- the biggest, but bottom of the pecking order. Sent the top two away and kept the lowest on the totem pole. He is the BEST rooster, very kind to his girls....gives away all the treats I give them, fixes the nest and stays with his sweety when she's laying and just an all around good rooster who does his job and does it good! Keep George! He looks like the one.

thank yall so much. i just want a rooster that is going to be kind to the girls but keep his eye out for them also. im not interested in big name chickens just ones i can love and get along with. i will miss rocky he is definitely cute. but i do know its not good the way he does.

Our experience with our roosters went like this. Muff, the middle meanie, beat up Bo the lowest on the pecking order extremely bad one day. Came home to find Bo hiding his head in the corner and bleeding. Muff left that afternoon. Which left Mo- the leader who had shown no aggresive tendencies at all. Within the week he was coming at my husband and myself every time we even came close to the run. Would have lost an eye if it were not for the fence! Poor Bo just minded his business and stayed clear of Mo as much as possible. Mo left one week after Muff the meanie and Bo became the master of his own little flock.

And what a rooster he is. I don't try to pet him or pick him up. He tends to his hens with an amazing gentleness and kindness for such a giant bird and all is happy in our little henhouse. I hope yours will work out also. Aren't chickens great!

you better believe chickens are great!!!! people that dont have them dont understand how great they are! well that is what i am hoping happens. do roosters chase the hens alot? rocky the wild one will fly up on the poarch and stomp his feet. what does that mean if anything?
