Roosting

Hello!
I am new to raising chickens. I have 5 chickies who are about 3 months old. I pretty sure they are roosting on a low roost (about 5 inches off the ground) but will they know to roost on the taller bar? Do I need to show them how?

What breed are they? Some breeds prefer to be low or on the ground at night. You can show them where to roost by going out late in the evening and putting them where you wish them to be. After a few nights they will go there on their own. For he most part they will, most likely, roost higher as they get older.

You're welcome. If some refuse to roost high I'd accept individual differences.
