Root Rot in Fodder

The past few days my fodder has been plagued with root rot, and bluish green mold. What are some preventative measures I can take to prevent this?

As you progress in chicken keeping you will eventually find out as I did that chickens are not ungulates (or cows) and that they do not benefit from composted feed, aka silage.

More rinsing and complete draining.

I don't let it get tall enough for it to be a problem.
