My white Cochin lives to be broody. She laid three eggs and went broody. I have given her fertile eggs in the past to hatch out, but other times I give her chicks from the feed store to raise. She could care less what she gets. Mid-March I gave her 10 chicks from the feed store because she was in the broody mood.
One of the other big girls got a bit too close today to the kids and Rosa let her have it. She is such a good mom. She is currently raising 3 Speckled Sussex (first time with this breed), 3 EEs, 2 RIR, 1 buff Cochin, 1blue Cochin.
