I have a d'anvers cockerel with an inverted nipple comb. It's why his name is Nipple lol. Will the point of his comb come out or is he just gonna have this weird outie belly button looking thing going on just bigger?

Thanks!!

Not sure if it is going to come out. I just wanted to tell you that my Dominique hen has a comb kinda like that and hers never came out. How old is he? My Dominique hen is a year old so I don't think my hen's is ever going to come out.

Then it might still have a possibility to pop out! ;) Not completely sure though!
After a deep digging I've found this is a disqualification and is called an inverted spike. I may be able to breed it out but it is a mutation that's hard to get rid of. This is kind of upsetting, 2 of the 3 birds I hatched from blue barn have disqualifying features and they were sold as show quality. :( I was hoping to keep him and hatch some more babies but the only cockerel I got that was the most solid bird was taken by a bird of prey last week. Such is my luck..

Oh well that's too bad.:( I am sorry.😞 I guess I will never be able to show my Dominique ever then.😂

I wish I was having this problem with a Dominique. At least then I could find a better boy. It's a colossal challenge to find any d'anvers let alone a real nice porcelain cock. I wish more people were interested in them.

I have two D'anvers that are both hens but I don't think either would be breeder or show quality. One is beard and muff less and I wonder if Nilla actually would be show quality. (Once her tail grows in I mean:lau) What do you think?

Keeping in mind that I am no expert, no facial whiskers is a disqualification. Without a tail on your white hen it's hard to say for sure if the carriage of the tail is appropriate. The eyes look kinda light and as I understand it, the darker the eye the better. She has a nice beard and muff though. @Amer might be a better person to ask when it comes to stuff like body structure, wing position, head broadness, stance and stuff.
