Good Morning!

This morning our (supposedly!) Silver Lace Wynadotte Pullet seemed to crow/cough! This is our first experience with rose combs or Wynadottes, and wondered if some more experienced eyes out there could please confirm the breed and sex of this chicken?

Sorry the pictures aren't better quality, it's rainy in Florida today!

Thanks so much!

Looks like a Silver Laced. How old? I can't tell from pic. if it's a roo or not. Age would help but hens will make noise. If it's close to laying age ( 15-20 wks. ) they start making some noise too, plus waddles and comb get really red.

It will really turn out pretty by the time they are laying. I just lost one on Monday ( our first loss ) she was so pretty.....

I believe the hatch date was right around May 1st so 9 weeks? As excited as we would be for eggs the noises she made might have on her way back out to the farm to trade for another breed - these are undercover city chickens and if this morning's creecaw was repeated she just might blow the cover. Our buffs and Maran are still quiet

Those are some pretty well developed and fairly red wattles at 9 weeks old. I am leaning toward roo. My white wyandotte hens didn't have wattles like that for a long time.

I'm leaning towards roo too because of his comb, and also the "streaky" lacing on his back. I've found most of my pullets have more defined lacing on ther back while the young roos have a more steaky look to them.

I guess that settles that. Thank Goodness the breeder was sweet and offered to trade out if any of our chicks grew up to be boys instead of girls.
