Rosecomb Pullet Show Critique ?

Here's a link to a picture of a Black Rosecomb pullet. Note the earlobe, face colour & overall condition. This is what a pullet should look like. I don't know of anything other than age that could cause a female to be in the condition of the bird you posted about. As to the earlobe issue the "breeder" gave you information that's not consistent with my experience. Whether pullet of hen your bird is fully mature & her lobe won't change for the better at this point. I bred Rosecombs for a number of years and believe me the shape of the final shape of the lobe is evident at an age much younger than this bird.
Your bird does have some good points. While she isn't posed well she does appear to have good type. She has good colour & feather quality. There is nothing wrong with the shape of her tail or her beak except that her beak needs to be trimmed.
Bred to a male with a very good lobe she might well produce some good chicks. However, you asked about her show potential & IMO she would not do well in a class with any competition. She certainly wouldn't in a class I was judging.

Don't know where the link went but here it is again

Hmm since the breeder doesn't seem very knowledgeable, is this true: he told me that as a rooster gets older the shape of his lobe changes, is this true ?

That part is true. It changes for the worse.

Okay, the guy said my roo is 2-3 years old, so that could explain his ugly lobes. Now he said the girls were 3 months old when I went to pick them up, I messaged him to confirm and now he is saying that this batch is either 8 months or a year old. So they are done maturing, but they have not started laying yet.
